About The Founder
LISA CASSIDY
For over 20 years, Lisa has worked as a Brand Strategy and Digital Marketing Consultant in the green sector. She worked with businesses ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups to promote energy efficient, sustainably made products and services.
In 2020, Lisa created a jewelry line made from bicycle tubes due to time off during Covid. At no other time would Lisa have had the time, the patience or the tenacity to understand the intricacies and complexities of working with discarded bicycle tubes.
Today's collection reflects the hundreds of hours Lisa spent in her workshop making mistakes, trying new techniques and uncovering the secrets behind cutting into rubber, in order to create the Kaden & Kai Bicycle Tube Collection.
DO WELL & DO GOOD
From the very beginning, the goal for Kaden & Kai was to become a leading sustainable fashion brand. After a 20+ year career in the green space, Lisa was determined to create a product line that had the potential to do well and, an even bigger potential, to do good.
Kaden & Kai has been able to do good in three distinct ways: 1) by upcycling discarded bicycle tubes headed for the landfill, 2) incorporating sustainable business practices, as outlined by the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and 3) promoting slow fashion best practices. Our sustainable fashion jewelry is durable, timeless and is created in small batches in order to meet customer demand without wasting inventory.
BEHIND THE STORY
Prior to Kaden & Kai, Lisa had a micro store called ecoimagine. ecoimagine sold recycled, repurposed and biodegradable fashion accessories and clothing. Lisa worked with over a dozen small businesses throughout the United States to create awareness of these amazing eco products. ecoimagine closed its doors due to Covid, but later become the inspiration for Kaden & Kai.
Enclosed is an article published by Harvard Business School Online in 2019 about ecoimagine.
